The best part about these sugar cookies, in my opinion, is that they go beyond the classic flavor base of most Valentine cookies.
They taste great, and aren’t anything like those simple heart shaped Valentine’s day cookie recipes that you’ll find yourself baking.
Ingredients For the Valentine Cookies
To make these Valentine’s day cookies, you’ll need these ingredients.
- 1 ½ C unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
- 2 C sugar (you can also use powdered sugar)
- ⅔ C light brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1C dark Hershey’s cocoa powder
- 2C flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- 1C semi sweet chocolate chips
- 4 tbsp red gel food coloring
- 1 ½ C mini heart shaped confetti sprinkles
- 1 C unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
- 1 C sugar
- 2 tbsp strawberry Jello mix
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 ½ C flour
- 1 – 3.4 oz white chocolate instant pudding mix
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- 1 – 8 oz bag white chocolate chips
- 1 C unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
- 1 ½ C light brown sugar
- ½ C sugar
- 2 large egg
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 ½ C flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 2 ¾ C semi sweet chocolate chips
- 26 red foil heart shaped chocolate
How to Make the Valentine Sugar Cookies
Ready to give this easy recipe a try? Here’s what you’ll need to do.
Step 1: Get the Oven Ready
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a cookie sheet with metal baking rings, a baking sheet or some parchment paper.
Step 2: Add Red Food Coloring to the Egg and Butter Mixture
Using a large mixing bowl and hand beaters, cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light in color and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by mixing in the vanilla and red gel food coloring
Step 3: Add the Dry Ingredients
Using a medium bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients into the wet until combined.
Step 4: Combine and Prepare the Red Cookie Dough
Gently fold in the chocolate chips and half of the valentines day sprinkles. Set aside
Step 5: Start the Strawberry Chocolate Batter
To make the strawberry white chocolate batter, use a large mixing bowl, and cream together the butter, sugar and Jello mix.
Step 6: Add the Dry Ingredients
Beat in the eggs and vanilla until combined. Using a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, pudding mix, baking soda and salt
Step 7: Prepare the Dough and Set Aside
Gradually mix in the dry ingredients into the wet. Fold in the white chocolate chips. Set aside
Step 8: Start with the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
To make the chocolate chip cookie dough, use another large bowl and hand mixer, beat together the butter, brown sugar, and sugar until pale in color and fluffy
Step 9: Add the Dry Ingredients
Beat in the egg and vanilla until combined. Using a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Step 10: Combine and Prepare the Dough
Gradually beat into the wet ingredients until a dough forms/ fold in the chocolate chips
Step 11: Weigh the Dough Balls
Using a small cookie scoop and baking scale, weight some dough balls to about 1.5 oz. You want to make sure to have 3 dough balls in total, 1 for each recipe
Step 12: Prepare the Triple Love Cookies
Top with remaining chocolate chips. Once you have pressed the premade dough balls, carefully mash the 3 flavors and gently press the sugar cookie dough into a thick disk
Step 13: Bake the Cookies and Serve!
