Tips to Make the Christmas Popcorn Recipe
Making Christmas popcorn is super easy, but you might want to take note of these tips and tricks too.
- I have used regular salty popcorn for this recipe, but you can use any other flavored popcorn of your choice. Kettle corn is also a great option to consider.
- Salted popcorn, in my opinion, brings a nice flavor contrast to the sweetness of the white chocolate and other ingredients.
- If you want some extra sweetness into this holiday popcorn snack mix, you can use white chocolate popcorn.
- I have used melted white chocolate, because it just helps the red and green candy pop out more. Also, it has a more subtle flavor as opposed to regular melted chocolate.
- If you don’t have the white candy wafers this recipe calls for, you can use Wilton candy melts or just some regular white chocolate chips.
- To bring some more festive fun to this Christmas popcorn recipe, you can go beyond the festive sprinkles and add some crushed candy canes to the mix as well.
What Else Can I Add to the Christmas Popcorn Snack Mix?
Your version of Christmas crunch can have practically anything you want it to have. I like to use salty popcorn tossed with some melted white chocolate, some candy canes, lots of Christmas sprinkles, crushed candy canes and M&Ms.
When I’m feeling fancy, I like to make coated popcorn for this snack mix. To do this, I microwave popcorn and melt some red and green candy melts and coat the popcorn in them.
How Do I Store the Leftover Holiday Popcorn?
Got some leftovers that you want to store for later?
You can just move these Christmas treats to an airtight container and store them at room temperature for up to 3 days.
How Do I Serve the Christmas Popcorn?
The Christmas popcorn tastes best when served in a very large bowl and enjoyed together as a family.
You can also choose to add some mini marshmallows into them right before you serve.
