- 1 can of sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt

First, you need to place the rice in a strainer, or mesh colander. Make sure you rinse well allowing the cold water to run over it for about a minute.
Drain, and place the rice in the Instant Pot.
Add the milk, water, salt, and a hint of cinnamon, and stir well.
Place the lid on the Instant Pot, and make sure the pressure valve is set to ‘SEALING’. Press the ‘PORRIDGE’ button, and start, and allow the Instant Pot to automatically build and release the pressure.
It will cook for about 20 minutes, and then release pressure for about 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, carefully turn the pressure valve to ‘VENTING’, and make sure all the pressure is released and the flow valve is all the way down, and remove the lid.
Add the sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla, and stir until blended.
Serve immediately, or place rice pudding in a dish, or individual serving dishes, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate until desired time to serve. Enjoy!
NOTE: You can add Nutmeg, raisins, coconut, maple syrup, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, nuts, or other desired ingredients. Just add them when you stir in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla.

Why is mine so thick? It’s more like hot sweet rice than a pudding. I used a ninja foodie.
I’m not sure…I haven’t tried it in a ninja foodie but it should come out the same in any electric pressure cooker.
Shooooooot! I added all ingredients at the same time….is it doomed for disaster?
I should hope it will still work out so long as you keep the same cooking times.
What oz. condensed milk can?
Hi, the can used in this recipe is 14oz Thanks!
Do you think this would work with almond milk instead of whole milk?
We have not tried it with almond milk however I think it would be fine.
Can you double the recipe?
For this specific recipe i would not recommend that as you’d end up with far too much liquid in the pot and it may overflow.
I did try that with mine , making a double at same time and it did overflow . So def better to do just as her recipe one at a time .
that’s what i thought as rice expands quite a lot.
What grain of rice do you recommend? Short grain, long grain, arborio? Thanks – looks delicious. Can’t wait to try this recipe.
We used long grain rice but I think any grain would work. I prefer long grain.
Mine got too thick…not creamy like yours looks like. When the 20 min is up…mine goes to “keep warm”…should I cancel that while it’s doing a natural release?
Can I use instant rice ?
using instant rice would change the cooking times which i’m not 100% sure of..
