Tips & Tricks to Make the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies
Think you’re ready to make these delicious cookies? Here are some additional tips and tricks you might want to keep in mind.
- To get the perfect chewy cookies, you might want to make sure they’re perfectly cooked, but not overcooked and dry.
- Remember not to use melted butter- just softened butter. If your butter seems to have melted, you may want to let the cookie dough chill for a while in the refrigerator before baking the cookie dough balls.
- Remember to cover the chilled dough with some plastic wrap when you refrigerate it.
- I’ve used unsalted butter for this recipe, but you could also use salted butter if you want to.
- Baking powder can be a great alterative to baking soda for this recipe. Remember that baking powder results in a different texture in cookies when used as an alternative to baking soda.
- I prefer using silicone baking mats over parchment paper, because they can be reused multiple times. I love baking cookies, and they always turn out so easy to use over my baking sheet.
What Other Variations Can I Try?
- I’ve used granulated sugar for this recipe, because it gives the best results when it comes to baking cookies. I also prefer using light brown sugar, but you could also make do with dark brown sugar if you want a more intense flavor.
- You can also consider adding some natural peanut butter into the mixture if you want to. Adding peanut butter will lend the chocolate peanut butter cookies a more divine, creamy flavor.
- I also like to add chocolate chips in addition to the peanut butter chips to lend the cookies a more chocolatey flavor. You could also consider starting off with a simple chocolate chip cookie recipe, and then add in some creamy peanut butter to make these peanut butter chocolate chip cookies.
- If you don’t have a stand mixer, to make the cookie dough, you can use a hand mixer instead.
How to Store the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies
Storing these creamy chocolate peanut butter cookies is super easy. All you need to do is allow them to cool down completely before you transfer them to an airtight container and then store them at room temp for up to a week.
