  • onion – I like to use a sweeter onion for this recipe. Just pick your favorite type and chop it up.
  • garlic – You can mince your own garlic or cheat like I do and buy it already minced in a jar.
  • heavy cream – Don’t skimp on this. It adds a richness and creamy texture.
  • broccoli florets – You can buy these already chopped up in a bag as well to save on prep time.
  • mozzarella – Adding mozzarella cheese is the perfect flavor.

How to make broccoli with bacon

Here is a quick and easy step-by-step guide to show you how to make this bacon and broccoli recipe.

Step 1: Cook the bacon

Cook the bacon in a skillet until it’s done. Take out the bacon and let the grease drain on a paper towel.

Step 2: Cook the onion

Add the chopped onion to the skillet (use the bacon grease to cook it!) and cook it for 2-3 minutes.

Step 3: Cook the broccoli

Put the florets in the skillet and let it cook for about 3 minutes. It should be bright green in color.

Pour the cream into the skillet and reduce the heat to low.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 5 tbsp garlic, minced (I cheat and buy the minced garlic in a jar!)
  • 1 ½ C heavy cream
  • 1 pound broccoli florets
  • 1 c mozzarella, shredded
