How to Make the Halloween Jello Shots
Once you have all your ingredients ready, here’s the process you’ll need to follow to make the layered Halloween jello shots.
Step 1: Prep the Condensed Milk
Boil two cups water. Add in four tablespoons sweetened condensed milk. Whisk well.
Step 2: Add the Gelatin
In a bowl, add in two packages gelatin Knox and hot water mixture. Whisk well. Add in two cups cold water. Whisk well. Carefully pour into the cups.
Step 3: Let the Jello Set
Place the Jello in the fridge for up to 8 hours or until completely set. Once Jello is set move to the next step.

You will need a blue cutting mat. Once you print the design then place on the blue cutting mat and follow the on screen cut directions. Be sure to set the dial on your Cricut to light cardstock for best results.
Step 7: Let Dry and Use
Once the image is cut then hot glue a toothpick to the back. Let dry and the toppers are ready to use.
Tips to Make the Halloween Jello Shots
Once you have all your ingredients ready, here’s what you’ll need to do to make these Halloween shots.
- You can use plastic cups or Jello cups to make these shots in. If you don’t have them, you can also just stick to using shot glasses instead. I prefer using plastic cups over shot glasses, simply because of their convenience.
- While the actual ingredients call for the use of condensed milk, I also like adding some sugar into the mix for a little extra sweetness.

What Other Variations Can I Try?
- I have used unflavored gelatin for this recipe, but you can choose to use any other flavors too to bring in a bit of variation to the Jello shot.
- You can make an orange Jello as the first layer and then top the orange layer with a white layer of whipped cream or the condensed milk layer.
- Cherry Jello and Grape Jello are two other great options too. You can also make black Jello by adding some black gel food coloring into the gelatin, and some black sugar as well.
- I love the idea of making layered Halloween jello shots by first having a purple layer with purple Jello or grape Jello, then topping it with an orange layer made with orange Jello and following it up with some unflavored gelatin with black gel food coloring added in, then topping it with whipped cream.
- You can also try out another unique Halloween Jello shot by adding some candy corn into the Jello cups and turning it into candy corn Jello shots.
