HOW TO FREEZE FRESH SPINACH FOR SMOOTHIES

The best way to freeze your fresh greens for smoothies is by freezing pureed spinach.

Spinach puree is great in a smoothie. You can grab just the right amount of frozen cubes from your freezer bag and add them to your breakfast smoothie.

Using ice cube trays and making frozen spinach puree can help prevent freezer burn which is a bonus!

When you freeze fresh spinach it allows the raw spinach to last longer. I always recommend you freeze spinach when you have too much.

There are three ways to thaw frozen spinach leaves.

  2. Remove spinach from the container or bag. Place the spinach submerged into a bowl of cold water for about an hour befo using it.
  3. Heat the frozen spinach in a microwave for 30 seconds if adding to a meal.
