What Is Chicken Broth?

Chicken broth is a flavorful liquid made by simmering chicken, vegetables, herbs and spices in water. It is a key ingredient in soups and sauces, adding flavor and body to the dish. Chicken broth can be made with either whole chicken or parts such as the neck, back, wings and giblets. The longer it simmers, the more intense the flavor will be. It can also be used as a base for casseroles or other dishes that require liquid.

What Can You Use Chicken Broth For

Chicken broth is sometimes referred to as stock. It can be used to make all sorts of delicious dishes. It can be used as a cooking liquid for grains, rice, or pasta, or it can be used as a braising liquid for chicken and vegetables. It adds more flavor than using plain water. Here are a few recipes you could use your chicken broth in:

Chicken Broth Vs Chicken Stock?

Chicken broth and chicken stock are both liquid bases used in cooking. Chicken broth is typically made with just the meat and bones of a chicken, while chicken stock is made with the same ingredients plus vegetables and seasonings. Chicken broth has a lighter flavor than stock, making it great for soups and sauces. Chicken stock has a richer flavor that’s perfect for braising meats.
