Instant Pot Alabama Chicken Slider Ingredients

For this recipe, you will need quite a few ingredients. Most of which are what make the delicious white sauce! Here’s a snippet of what you need:

  • Chicken breasts: I find boneless, skinless chicken breasts work best since you need to shred the chicken.
  • Broth: I like to cook all my meats in broth because it makes it juicier. However, you can use water instead.
  • Worcestershire sauce: This sauce adds a little bit of every flavor. It’s sour from the vinegar, sweet from the molasses, and salty from the soy sauce.
  • Mayonnaise: Not only does it add a little flavor, but it helps to thicken up your sauce.
  • Buttermilk: If you don’t have buttermilk, you can always add vinegar or lemon juice to milk to make it.
  • Horseradish: This really spices up the sauce.

Why Do I Need to Pressure Cook the Chicken So Long?

To make chicken sliders, you will need to shred the chicken. Allowing the chicken to pressure cook for 40 minutes makes it easier to shred the chicken when it is done.

Tips and Tricks

Along the way, I have learned some tips and tricks to perfect this recipe. Keep the following in mind as you make it:

  1. Make the sauce while chicken cooks. To save time, go ahead and make the sauce while your chicken is in the Instant Pot.
  2. Whisk sauce well. You don’t want any lumps in your sauce so make sure you whisk it really well.
  3. Mix chicken and sauce. Instead of topping the chicken with the sauce, I have found that it’s more flavorful when the sauce is mixed in with the shredded chicken.
