Step Four: Cover Hot Dogs With Cornbread Mix

Add the remaining cornbread mix to each mold, covering the hot dogs completely.

Don’t overfill each mold as you want each corn dog to cook evenly. Make sure that each mold is about ¾ full and covers the hot dog.

Step Five: Place Silicone Mold Into Instant Pot

Pour 1 cup of water into the bottom of your Instant Pot. Place your silicone mold on top of a trivet inside the Instant Pot.

Place the silicone lid and snap into place. If you do not have a lid, you can cover the mini corn dog bites with aluminium foil by laying a piece of foil over the whole mold.

Step Six: Pressure Cook

Close the Instant Pot lid. Lock into place and push the valve to its sealing position.

Set your pot to pressure cook on high pressure for 10 minutes. The Instant Pot’s pressure will cook each mold evenly.

Step Seven: Naturally Release Steam

After the Instant Pot has finished cooking, allow it to naturally release its steam for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, open the valve manually.

Once the steam has completed being released, open the Instant Pot. Use something to protect your hands, and grab the trivet using both sides to remove the Corn Dogs from the Instant Pot.

Step Eight: Serve

FAQ’S

What Are Corn Dog Bites?

Corn Dog Bites are small pieces of hot dog, (mini corn dogs) coated in cornbread batter and cooked to perfection.
They are similar to traditional corn dogs but made in bite-sized portions for easy snacking. These can be made both in the oven or by using the Instant Pot.

Baked Corn Dog Bites V’s Instant Pot Corn Dogs

Both versions of Corn Dog Bites are delicious, but I prefer the Instant Pot version for a few reasons. First, it’s faster and easier to make these in the Instant Pot.

No need to preheat the oven or wait for them to bake- just mix up your batter, pop it into your silicone mold and turn on your Instant Pot.

Is Corn Bread the Same as Corn Meal?

Corn bread is bread made with corn meal, but it also includes flour and other ingredients such as sugar, eggs, and milk.

Cornmeal is simply ground-up dried corn kernels and has a much thicker consistency than cornbread.

Why Is My Corn Dog Batter Not Sticking?

If your Corn Dog Bites are not sticking together, try adding more liquid (milk or water) to the cornbread mix.
You can also try thoroughly mixing the batter before adding it to the silicone mold and hot dogs.

Are Corn Dogs Gluten Free?

Corn dog bites made with Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix are not gluten-free. However, you can make corn dog bites using a gluten-free cornbread mix to make them gluten-free friendly.

Can I Make Air Fryer Corn Dogs With This Recipe?

Yes, you can make Air Fryer Corn Dogs using this recipe. Simply follow the mini corn dog bites recipe as directed, and place your corn dog nuggets in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

Cook for about 8-10 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit or until golden brown. Serve hot with desired condiments. Enjoy!

How to Make Sweet Corn Dog Batter

If you want to give these easy corn dogs a little bit sweeter outer crust, all you need to do is add some sugar or honey to the mixture. But beware – a little bit goes a long way!
The easiest way to taste test and determine what you prefer more is to set out a little bit of batter to add in some sweetener.

Then, when you make up the corn dogs, you’ll know that one of them is a tad bit sweeter than the others and you’ll get to decide what you like best.

Do I Need to Line The Mold With Melted Butter?

No, you do not need to line the silicone mold with melted butter before adding the Corn Dog nugget mixture.
Adding butter is optional and can add additional flavor, but it is not necessary for this recipe.

Can You Turn These Mini Corn Dogs Into Corndog Muffins?

You bet! You can use this corn dog bites recipe to make corndog muffins. Use a different mold with more batter in it to make muffins instead of small corndog bites.

Is There Baking Powder in Corn Bread?

Yes, Corn Bread does contain baking powder as one of its ingredients. Baking powder helps give Corn Bread its fluffy texture and rise while cooking in the oven or Instant Pot.
