Tips & Tricks to Make the Korean Beef
While putting this dish together is super easy, you might want to have these little tips and tricks handy to get the flavors right.
- To lend the beef a bit of tanginess, you can add a dash of rice vinegar into it.
- If you’re adding the rice vinegar, you might also want to throw in a bit of soy sauce to balance everything out. If you’re more conscious about your food, use low sodium soy sauce.
- If you’re like me and want to bring a bit of heat, you can also add some red pepper flakes into the marinade.
- If you prefer that tinge of sweetness, you can add a bit of brown sugar into the marinade.
- Ground ginger can also be a fantastic addition to this beef mixture. It will lend the thinly sliced beef some earthy undertones that taste amazing when paired with some brown rice or sticky rice.
- If you can, use toasted sesame seeds instead of regular sesame seeds for the recipe. They are more crunchy and flavorful.
- Don’t forget to top the beef with some chopped green onions and some more red pepper flakes or ground fresh ginger.
Can I Cook the Beef in a Pan?
You can! If you don’t have an Air Fryer, you can also use a good quality non stick pan or your cast iron skillet to pan fry the beef until it is nice and cooked. Just make sure you cook it on medium high heat for best results.
I personally love using my Air Fryer because it just makes things so much simple.
What Kind of Beef Should I Use for this Recipe?
You can use almost any cut of beef to make this easy and delicious recipe. Just make sure you cut the beef into thin slices and then marinate it.
Can I Use Ground Beef for this Recipe?
You could try and replicate the same recipe by using ground beef instead of thinly sliced beef, but you’ll need to cook the beef in a pan or a skillet instead of your Air Fryer for best results.
Can I Use Any Other Meat for this Recipe?
You can! While beef is the traditional and best choice for this recipe, you can also use ground turkey or ground chicken instead, if that’s what you have at hand.
How Do I Store the Leftovers?
Your leftovers can be refrigerated for 2-3 days.
Just transfer them to an airtight container and store them until you’re ready to reheat. You can either microwave the beef in a pan or reheat it in the microwave.
How Do I Use the Leftover Korean Beef?
If you have any leftovers, you can use them as a filling for your lettuce wraps.
Top the beef strips with some shredded carrot, green onions and a generous spread of spicy mayo or any other toppings of your choice.
What to Serve with the Korean Beef
I always love serving this beef bowl as a complete meal. I start off with a base of some jasmine rice or white rice, top it some of this sliced beef, and finish of with a side of some steamed or pan fried veggies.
This beef usually tastes great with veggies like bok choy, shredded carrots, steamed broccoli and more peppers.
