What I Love About the Recipe
My favorite part about these adorable cake pops is the fact that you can actually get your kids involved in making them too.
It can be a fun way to get the kids involved in the kitchen and enjoy a Disney inspired activity that they can actually eat after they’re done.
They’re perfect for a Christmas party or just a simple kids playdate or Disney inspired party, where you don’t want to go the traditional way and make a Mickey cake.

Tips & Tricks to Nail the Recipe
While making these Mickey mouse cake pops is super easy, you might want to note down these little tips and tricks too!
- When melting the almond bark, make sure you use a microwave safe bowl, and keep stirring the mixture several times in between until you get a smooth, even mixture.
- You can also use chocolate melting wafers to make the candy coating for these cake pops.
- To bring in a bit of flavor variation, I would also recommend using cream cheese frosting instead of regular frosting to make the Mickey mouse cake pops.
- While you can use almost any flavor of cake to make cake pops, chocolate cake and red velvet cake are hands down, the best choices.
- If the candy melting wafers aren’t creating that perfect hard shell around the cake ball, you can add a couple drops of vegetable oil into them and give it a good mix before you dip the cake balls in it.
- I’ve used yellow food coloring to make the yellow candy coating. If you don’t want to use yellow, you can also use black candy melts to make the eyes for the Mickey mouse.
- You can also add small details like Mickey’s buttons or Minnie’s bow using yellow sprinkles or other colored sprinkles or even just using a piping bag along with the melted candy melts.
- Remember to tap the Mickey mouse cake pops lightly and remove the excess chocolate to get a uniform, clean surface to work with and add all the details on.
- To keep the chocolate from getting on the surface of your countertop, spread a parchment paper on your cookie sheet or working area.
- You can also bring in some variation to these and make Minnie mouse cake pops in a similar way, just adding a little bow!
How Do I Store the Leftover Mickey Mouse Cake Pops?
If you have any leftover cake pops, you can store them in an airtight or freezer safe container and then refrigerate or freeze them.
Make sure the cake mix is at room temperature before you start to make the cake balls for these Disney cake pops.
