Popping popcorn in the Instant Pot is a breeze! It’s a fun way to show everyone that the Instant Pot can cook anything!
Step One: Turn your Instant Pot on to sauté mode. Wait for it to get hot, and then add in your butter. Let your butter completely melt.
Step Two: Add your popcorn kernels and salt to the melted butter. Stir well to coat your kernels with butter and salt.
Step Three: Place the glass lid on your Instant Pot to seal in the heat. Your popcorn kernels will start to pop. Allow them to continue to pop until you stop hearing popping for at least 20 seconds. Once the Instant Pot popcorn has stopped popping for at least 20 seconds, press cancel on your Instant Pot and remove the lid and transfer your fresh popcorn to a cookie sheet with a parchment paper liner.

In this recipe we use butter. We love to drizzle melted butter on our popcorn however you can substitute butter with vegetable oil, avocado oil, canola oil, olive oil, or extra virgin coconut oil.
You can. It’s really important to pay attention to the time that you’re melting them for. If you burn them, you can’t fix them and will have to dump the chocolate out and start over from the beginning. Be sure to melt in small increments.
To save leftover popcorn, just add it to an airtight container or bag. You can store popcorn at room temperature as well.
