To cook fresh green beans in the Instant Pot, start by adding the green beans directly to the bottom of the inner pot in your electric pressure cooker.
Next, add the butter to the green beans.
Season with salt and black pepper as desired. Add the chicken broth or chicken stock, pouring it over your fresh green beans.
Close your Instant Pot lid. Close the pressure valve to the sealing position and set your Instant Pot to pressure cook at high pressure for 0 minutes.
After your Instant Pot has come to pressure and the Instant Pot beeps, use the quick-release method to safely release any remaining steam from the cooker before opening the lid.
Finally, sprinkle some sesame seeds over top of your pressure cooker green beans. Serve as a side dish or as part of a balanced meal.
Notes
For perfectly tender Instant Pot green beans, use fresh green beans trimmed of ends for the best texture and flavor.
If you enjoy a slight crunch, decrease the cooking time by a minute or two in the Instant Pot to get the crisp tender green beans.
Revive over cooked green beans by plunging them into ice water to stop the cooking process, then sauté with garlic and olive oil for a flavorful boost.
