Halloween Banana Ghosts
The thing I love about Halloween Banana Ghosts is that they are simple and easy to make. you can make these ghost bananas on your own super quick or make it a fun Halloween activity to enjoy with kids.
Plus, bananas are a healthy alternative to all of the extra sugary treats that come with Halloween.
These Halloween Banana Popsicles are covered in a layer of white chocolate but they are healthy semi-healthy Halloween treats compared to all of the sugary goodies out there.
Halloween Banana Ghost Ingredients
To make this healthy Halloween snack you will need the following ingredients:
- 4 Bananas -the bananas can be cut in half for each ghost.
- 1 Block of white melting chocolate or chocolate melts. I prefer to use Wilton white chocolate candy melts
- Mini chocolate chips are required to make the ghost eyes
- Popsicle sticks – the popsicle stick is needed to create the handle of your Ghost treats.
- Wax Paper – for the banana ghost popsicles to set on.
How Long Is The Prep Time?
These ghost bananas can be prepped in 5 minutes.
How To Make these Halloween Ghost Bananas
To make these ghostly treats, peel and slice the bananas in half.
Next, carefully insert the popsicle stick into the base of each banana.
Using a melting pot or fondue pot, melt your white chocolate melts or white melting chocolate.
If you don’t have a melting pot then simply add your chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second increments until fully melted and creamy.
Once the chocolate is melted, dip each banana into the melted chocolate.
Next, add the chocolate chips or candy eyes to the ghost banana ghosts for eyes.
Place your ghost bananas onto a cookie sheet covered in parchment paper or wax paper ready to set.
Voila! You have yourself a bunch of Halloween banana ghosts ready to be enjoyed by all at your Halloween party or as an after-school treat for the children.
How Long Will It Take For The Chocolate To Harden?
The chocolate will harden in the fridge in around about 10-15 minutes before serving. They make a tasty treat and the recipe is so easy. Even of you not naurally a crafty person these adorable banana ghosts won’t be too hard to make.
Do I Have To Use Chocolate Chips For The Eyes?
the answer is no. Mini chocolate chips are a great idea for the eyes on these Halloween banana popsicles however you can opt to use raisins instead or you could use black icing or edible candy eyes.
Is This A Frozen Banana Treat?
You have two options. You can simply cover the bananas with white chocolate and place on a prepared baking sheet in the fridge until the chocolate hardens.
Alternatively, if you want to make these ghost bananas into frozen banana ghosts you can pop them into the freezer allowing them to freeze over.
How Do I Make This Into A Healthy Halloween Treat?
If you don’t want to use chocolate, then you can get a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and instead of using melted chocolate you can opt to use yogurt and dip the bananas into a yogurt bowl instead. This will make the treats even more healthy.
