Best Crescent Dough for Halloween Party Hotdogs

I used Pillsbury Crescent Rolls because they are so easy to work with, but you could also use pre-made puff pastry dough as well.

Fun Halloween Food

This fun Halloween party food idea is great for trick or treat night and is much more fun than regular hot dogs. It’s a good alternative to the hot dog bun and is one of my favorite recipes for Halloween.

Ingredients for Halloween Hotdogs

  • Hot Dogs: The “body” of the mummy, providing a savory, meaty bite.
  • Crescent Roll Dough: Wraps around the hot dogs to create the “bandages” of the mummy, offering a soft, buttery contrast to the hot dogs.
  • Edible Eyes: The finishing touch that brings the mummies to life, adding a fun and spooky element.
  • Mustard: Gives a tangy flavor kick to the hot dogs, enhancing their savoriness.
  • Egg: Used for an egg wash to give the crescent roll dough a golden, appetizing finish.

How to Make Halloween Hotdogs?

Preheat the oven to 350F.Unroll the crescent roll and flatten the dough till it’s even. You can use whatever kind of dough you want. In this case, I used crescent roll dough.

Cut the dough into thin strips with a sharp knife from the top of the dough to the bottom so they are long. You will probably need two trips per hot dog.

Cut the dough into strips

Roll the strip of dough around the hot dog creating bandages leaving space for the head.
Don’t cover the hot dog completely. Repeat with the remaining hot dogs

Place the hot dogs on a baking sheet and brush them with egg wash so they look golden brown. Bake for about 15 minutes

Remove from the oven and add the candy eyes using a dot of mustard or ketchup where the face of the mummy is.
