Ingredients For This Apple Pie Filling Recipe

  • 5 cups peeled and sliced apples
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • ¼ cup cornstarch

How To Make Instant Pot Apple Pie Filling 

If you want to know how to make apple pie filling with fresh apples then here is the recipe for you! 

Begin by chopping and coring your apples.

Add your apples to the bottom of your Instant Pot.

Combine all ingredients in the inner pot of your Instant Pot.

Close lid and set for a manual high-pressure cooking time of 1 minute. Do a quick pressure release when the cooking time has finished.

Remove the lid, and stir the apples.

In a small bowl, combine about ½ cup of liquid from the apples with the cornstarch.

Stir together until the cornstarch has completely dissolved.

Turn the pressure cooker on to saute mode and stir in the cornstarch liquid mixture.

Let cook while stirring on and off. The apple pie filling should thicken in 1-2 minutes.

Turn the Instant Pot off and ladle the apple pie filling into a quart-sized jar or storage container.

Cool on the counter and then refrigerate for 2-3 days or freeze for 2-3 months.
