We recommend cooking for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.

Best Curry Powder For Curried Chicken?

There are many different curry powders available on the market. However, we prefer to use a mild or medium good quality curry powder in this recipe. This will give the chicken a nice flavor without being too spicy.

What Pan Should I Use For Baked Chicken?

I recommend using a baking dish or sheet pan for this recipe. If you don’t have either of those, you can also use an oven-safe skillet.

I love this cast-iron baking tray…it is of great quality and will last for years.

How do you know if the chicken is done baking?

First of all stick to the cooking time in this recipe. The best way to check if the chicken is done baking is to use a meat thermometer.

Stick it into the thickest part of the chicken and make sure that the internal temperature is at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

If you don’t have a thermometer, you can also check to see if the juices are running clear. Cut into the chicken with a knife and check to see if the juices are clear or still pink.

How Do I Serve Baked Curry Chicken?

Ingredients For This Baked Curry Chicken Recipe

This recipe makes 6 servings.

2 lb. Boneless skinless chicken thighs – you can also use bone in chicken thighs, chicken drumsticks or chicken breast.

2 Tbsp. Olive oil – Olive oil is great for baked chicken as it’s a healthy fat and has a high smoke point so it won’t burn.

3 tsp. Curry powder – I like to use a Madras curry powder for this recipe.

1 tsp. Paprika – smoked paprika is a great option for this recipe.

½ tsp. Ground ginger – the ginger in this recipe gives it a fantastic flavor.

Pinch of cinnamon – a little cinnamon goes a long way in this recipe.

2 tsp. Minced garlic – garlic adds a great flavor to this dish.

Salt and pepper if desired – I don’t usually add salt as the curry powder already contains some. This recipe works well with a pinch of black pepper.

How to Make Baked Curry Chicken

Here are the basic steps for baking chicken in the oven:

Preheat The Oven

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, mix the oil, curry powder, turmeric, cumin, salt, and other Indian spices. This is the right combination needed for your chicken thighs.

Coat Chicken In Curry Seasoning

Add the chicken thighs or breast to the large mixing bowl. Toss and coat the chicken well in the spices.

Prepare the Baking Sheet

Place the chicken on a baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until fully cooked through.
