There is this place I love going to. It’s an Indian food restaurant. My absolutely favorite dish made with deliciously spicy curry is butter chicken. But, now I don’t have to spend my hard earned money ordering out. Instead, I can make Instant Pot Butter Chicken right from home!

Instant Pot Butter Chicken Ingredients
The ingredients in this recipe are for 6 people. Here’s what you need:
- 16 ounces tomato sauce
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- A tbsp curry powder
- 1 tsp Garam Masala
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp sugar
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, cubed
- 2 lb diced chicken thigh meat
- 2/3 cup heavy cream
How to Make Instant Pot Butter Chicken
Step one:
Add the tomato sauce, minced garlic, curry powder, Garam Masala, paprika, onion powder, sugar and salt to the Instant Pot and mix together.
Step Two:
Add in the diced chicken thighs and butter on top.
Step Three: Cook Butter Chicken
Cover your Instant Pot, seal, select pressure cook / manual setting, high pressure and set the timer for 6 minutes.
Step Four:
When done, let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes then quick pressure release the rest of the pressure.
Step Five:
Set the Instant Pot to the Sauté mode mix in the heavy cream and simmer till the butter sauce thickens to your taste.
Step Six: Enjoy Your Butter CHicken
Switch off the heat and prepare to serve. We like to eat our butter chicken with rice. You may also like some naan bread to go along side this dish.
