FAQ’S

What Is Egg Roll In A Bowl?

A traditional egg roll is a savory roll that contains shredded cabbage, chopped mince and other fillings that are wrapped in a wheat wonton-style wrapper. Egg rolls are often fried and served as an appetizer or snack. Egg Roll In A Bowl, however, is a different kind of egg roll recipe that is made without the wrapper. In essence, it is unwrapped eggroll.

This dish is typically low in carbs and uses ground turkey or other protein of your choice as the main ingredient. It’s usually stir-fried in a wok or skillet, and served with a dipping sauce or garnished with green onions.

Does Egg Roll Have Egg In It?

No. Traditionally the casing of the egg roll does not contain egg. It was not until more recently that people began adding an egg to the egg roll-in-a-bowl recipe to add extra protein.

Why Is Egg Roll In A Bowl Keto?

Egg Roll in a bowl is Keto because it has very little carbs and contains keto fats making it a great dish for those on the Keto Diet.

This is also a quick and easy dish to make so it’s perfect for those on the go or looking for a quick dinner option. It’s one of my favorite low-carb recipes.

What Other Vegetables Can I Add to Egg Roll in a Bowl?

Some of the common vegetables used in this stir fry dish include cabbage, broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, spinach or water chestnuts.

Can I Use Regular Soy Sauce?

Whilst this recipe calls for low-sodium soy sauce you can substitute this for regular soy sauce.

We simply prefer to use low-sodium soy sauce as it has less salt which is better from a nutritional perspective.

You could also switch the soy sauce to coconut aminos if you don’t want to use soy at all.

How Can I Make This Dish Extra Spicy?

If you like things a bit spicy you can add in some hot chili sauce, or even some fresh sliced jalapenos to give your egg roll in a bowl an extra kick!

Alternatively, you can use more ground ginger and fresh garlic or garlic powder for added flavor. That will add a spicy kick for sure.

Can I Use This Mixture With Egg Roll Wrappers?

Yes. If you want to use an egg roll wrapper with this egg roll mixture then go ahead and do so.
Simply follow the instructions and wrap up your egg roll with a few extra spices and you’re all set!
