What’s a petite sirloin steak?
Steak cuts can come at a very steep price. And petite sirloin steak is one of the cheaper alternatives. But with its lower price point, it is less tender than your luxe options.
With the right cooking method, it can render a promising meal. Its coarse grain is apt for marinades and rubs, which offer a wide array of options to upgrade your steak.
Where can you find the petite sirloin?
Petite sirloin is cut near the rump area, which still gives it a tasty flavor but has a tougher texture. To be specific, it comes from the tail end of the Sirloin primal.
This part is also referred to as the Bottom Sirloin Butt. Since this muscle does a lot of work, it can be very lean but lacks tenderness.
